I miss you. The best text I received from bubs in the last 2 weeks. I got my call yesterday morning. It was the best thing to wake up to, not including him being next to me of course. I think the best part about speaking to him is that I was able to unload everything that has been in my head lingering. I gave him a lot to think about.
I also was given the strict task of buying plane tickets for leave. Of course it would be a lot easier if bubs was around so he can help me on this one. I finally was able to speak to him after I looked online and his response was basically 'you're a big girl, you can make a decision on your own'. His leave starts on a Friday and I know he wants to be home as soon as he can. Well of course I KNOW I can, but my dilemma was that if he were to fly out on Saturday it would be $200 dollars MORE than if he were to come home on Sunday. But if it were up to me, as much as I want to see him, I'd chose Sunday. Simply because that is $200 that could be used on something else (our anniversary is coming up). I finally got him to say what HE wanted, of course he wants to come home on the first flight out. Good enough. Sometimes it's like pulling teeth to get something out of him.
I purchased a CD today. I haven't bought one in 10 years! I actually felt silly at best buy when I was buying it.
Adele is amazing. I absolutely love her voice. Definitely worth the embarrassment and driving around town since everywhere I went was sold out. Now I just want to drive around town listening to it, ha!

Aside from no deployments, what is one thing you would want to make the MilSpouse life “perfect”? submitted by Oh How Delightful
I'm going to just put this one out there and say it would make my life easier if we could decide what duty station we'd go to and how long we can stay. I would love nothing more than to buy a house and sit still for a while.

I do not nor do I think I'll ever get one. I have 3 but I learned my lesson on one of them and plan on getting a cover up. I also think that they should raise the age for when you can get one because if I had known when I was 18..

Well, I will be going to school for nursing coming up really soon. I'm just happy that I finally decided on what I wanted to be when I grow up. I don't know what I was thinking when I though Accounting would be a good choice. *sigh*

what a day
Today I went to get my ring cleaned since I have to do it every 6 months. I walked in had it inspected then cleaned. The guy (we'll call him Ted since I really don't know his name) that was helping me came back with my ring plus a band and was trying to show me how nice it would look together. Yeah, it looked alright. Honestly, I'm not all about huge rocks on my finger. Sure mine has many diamonds on it and I love that it sparkles but I don't need a 6 carat diamond on my finger. It also has diamonds along each side so I never figured that point of covering it up with another band. But of course, I was trying to be nice and said that it looked good but I'd have to bring the bubs back with me to look at it when he gets home. Ted suggested that I purchase it and show it to him when he got back. Not going to happen. Then he suggested that I get a Credit Card and have bubs make the payments on it. Also, not going to happen.
I don't always need bubs to "OK" on my purchases. I mean I can buy things until my little heart desires (although I don't). But when it come to big things, huge things we discuss it. I was so shocked that he suggested that I go behind his back while he's away. I probably would have said something "not lady like" to him but I was with my mama and grammy so I kept it polite. I'm glad that I did though, I work really hard at biting my tongue.
I didn't take any pictures today, which I'm surprised about. But it is supposed to snow tomorrow, which means I'll go out and snap some. I'm actually really happy we are only supposed to get up to 8 inches, back at home #2 it dumped on them. It isn't so much fun anymore when you have to shovel it all.

birthday weekend
My weekend started with my mama and I going on a trip to Home Depot. Man, I love that place! We are starting on a new project and I am excited about the finish product. I love being able to craft with someone who actually enjoys it. It seems like I have to pull teeth to get bubs to do crafts with me or buy some beer. Of course, I needed to wear my protective gear! We always seem to have fun where ever we go. I also spent a lot of time down at my grandparents house. By now though that shouldn't be a very big surprise. I watched gram make her infamous cookies. Her own recipe in fact. We spent a lot of time outside since Seattle decided to grace us with some fantastic weather.
Saturday I spent most of the day with some amazing friends! I can't believe we have been friends for over 15 years. We got a fabulous pedicure. I am not joking, the massage was over 10 minutes per leg. Pure relaxation. I would most likely go back there since the massage in itself was worth every dime spent. Although, my friend payed for mine for my birthday. Now that is a birthday present!
My birthday was very low-key. Just the way I like it! I think because my family is so big we really spend the whole month of February celebrating the birth of me that the actual day of, I like to do absolutely nothing. Although, my mama and I spent some quality time together which I will never complain about! I absolutely love hanging out with her. We also have a good time no matter what we are doing. First we went out to lunch, Pho. Best idea she ever had! My favorite restaurant is also a bakery so they always serve up some delicious cream puffs that I love so much. Later, we ended up going down to the market, you know pike place. Of course we got there later than usual so we didn't have much time to shop since it was closing down. But I found some great things that I will have to go back and buy. We did end up going to my favorite restaurant. Beecher's Cheese. They make their own cheese right in the store, so while you're eating your delicious food you can watch how it's made. I ended up getting Flagship, Basil & Tomato grilled sandwich and my mama got the Dungeness Crab & Flagship. They are both really good. I think going on a weekday is a better idea anyways, not as much tourists.
Other than the Birthday festivities, nothing has been going on. I am excited to hear from bubs soon. Since there has been so much going on, it'll be nice to hear from him and get his advice on things. I also can no wait to talk to him about my plans during deployment, since nothing has been decided yet I've been keeping it to myself that way things don't seem so permanent since we all know that nothing is written in pen in the Army. I can not wait to get my camera since most of the pictures I've been taking has been with my phone and it's clearly not good.

I really don't have that many IRL MilSpouse friends. I guess it's because all of the drama that comes with it I just decide to stay away. Yesterday was a pretty amazing day. I woke up with this pounding headache but it wasn't anything I haven't had before. Bubs and I aren't huge on celebrating Valentines day. He surprises me with gifts and love all year round but every year he always does something little for me. I honestly think he feels bad because we haven't spent a Valentines day together. I mean, I wish we could spend every day together but I know that isn't going to happen anytime soon.
I went to the mall to make a return and found this beautiful gem.
My ears can thank me later.
When I got back, I was pleasently surprised that these lovely friends were waiting for me.
They are huge and so perfect!
I also got another surprise from one of the number one men in my life. My Gramps. He got me candies! I don't remember ever getting something for Valentines day from him and I am completely ok with that. I think being the best grandpa I could ever want, is the best present anyone can give me.
I was trying to get my mama to go out to dinner with me but she wasn't feeling very well either. So we ended up laying in our beds whining to each other. Long story short, after she found me lying in my bed in the fetal position crying like a baby, I ended up at the ER and the doctor was surprised that my neck was so tense and I know I had the worlds worst Migraine. I finally got home at midnight. That my friends, was my valentines day. I sure hope yours was a lot more exciting with less tears.
My birthday is coming up in 5 days and I'm starting to think up of something really exciting to do. Fingers crossed it works out!

my day in a nutshell
Today was a pretty amazing day, I spent the majority of it with my wonderful niece. I can't believe she is already 6! It seems like just yesterday she was an infant. Sadly, everytime we tried doing somethng outside it would start raining. We went to a park, it rained. When we got home it stopped. We went to the beach and of course after 5 minutes of being there, it started raining terribly. I was able to snap some pictures, but I really wish we had more time to spend at the beach.
Anyways, we ended up going to the library. I hadn't been there in years and was actually surprised how nice it was. They had a little craft area set up so kids could make valentines day cards. We spent 3 hours crafting and lounging on a couch reading books to each other. Definitely a good time and of course free.
As we were leaving, I saw this wonderful piece of junk parked right next to me.
My night ended with bubble tea, yakisoba and a movie. Tomorrow is IKEA day so fingers crossed for good deals. I also haven't heard from bubs in a couple days, so hopefully THAT dry spell with end shortly.
Don't forget to add me on twitter!

changes
Well, I got my hair cut finally! It's been way too long and I'm sure everyone knows how just a trim can make your day better! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because it seemed like it was getting way too short. But it wasn't short at all just in the front. Either way, I'm in love. I've barely heard from bubs but I expected that. It's so much easier going into things when you know how they are going to be instead of going in blind. I'm sure happy that he is having as much fun as one could and is actually meeting some new people. I do get the random text 'hello' on occasion which I love waking up to! This morning I got "good morning love". Makes me feel giddy. When ever he's away I think the little things always puts a smile on my face-back to the basics. Some people always say that long distance doesn't work. But I honestly think it is about what you do during the times away is what makes or breaks your relationship. I always keep bub up to date on what I'm doing or text him little random sayings. He does the same. We always keep connected. As it should be when your married whether you are in the same house or different country.
Also, as I promised the finished bedroom. Unfortunately it's still a work in progress but most of the room is done so I snapped some pictures.
vlogger fail
I heard about a vlog that was going around, the 'dialect vlog'. So, of course I tried it out today. But for SOME reason, I literally sounded like the jolly green giant it was lagging so bad. After 20 failed attempts, I quit. Although I really do think I should figure out how to make a bloopers video with all of the ridiculousness (yep I say that a lot) I was spewing as I was trying to figure out how to have a 'chat' with my computer. Anyways after I failed badly, I snapped some pictures which sums up how I was feeling after my video failure. Tomorrow, I decided to finally get my hair cut so maybe I'll have a little extra pep in my step and try again.
I am very excited to announce that this girl has officially filed the dreaded taxes. Bubs got very lucky when he married a girl who can file her taxes all on her own haha. Fingers crossed that it wont take that long to get the refund.
Also, thanks to the amazing Jenn I realized that I had my comments turned off. But no worries- it's working again also for the recent posts that I have made.

night stands
I decided I needed to consume my day with something to make the time breeze by. I really don't think sitting around my mamas house doing nothing is really going to help this month go by any faster.
I must admit, I got my crafty-ness from my mama. As long as I can remember she was always revamping old furniture or creating a masterpiece with little cash. We started redecorating her bedroom since it was not very "warm". We decided to go for tranquil.
I started with her super old night stands. She's had these bad boys since my parents got married about 27+ years ago. Crazy right? We really needed to bring them to the future.
We purchased some primer, paint, sand paper and some new hardware. The total amount was only $15 and honestly, they turned out looking like new furniture. I am so happy with the end result. Hopefully tomorrow or Thursday, we'll have the room finished! Then we'll find another room to revamp.

You know, I've been really good about not complaining about being away from bubs and before I get the "you chose this" or "suck it up" I get that, it still doesn't make how I feel any different. Yeah it sucks but it could be a lot worse. I haven't seen him in over a month and it will be a while until I get to see him again.
Which I was thinking about today and quite honestly, I can handle over 2 months without seeing him. We've done longer. But the thing that has really gotten to me is that this is supposed to be our time together before the big "D" day decides to rip my little family apart (yep I'm completely being over-dramatic). I also get that we did this to ourselves. Since the Mrs. didn't want to stay "home" during NTC, it wasn't in our budget for me to fly back and forth from Alaska to Seattle so I decided to stay put in Seattle after Christmas leave.
Just being away though really got me thinking, "was this the best choice?"
This was supposed to be our time to really spend every little minute we can together. Enjoy us. WITH the giant elephant in the room, but not consider it something to speak about yet. Not until we really have to because I sometimes I like to be blissfully unaware of what is going on around me. Denial some people call it. I added everything up and yet again it adds up to the time away from each other during the last deployment, which included the 15 month deployment. Dread. Anyways, that is the last of the "whining" and I will now "suck it up".
| this is all i want right now |
Also, I've been working on something completely amazing today, which should make it's debut tomorrow. Just call me crafty.

pho-tastic
I haven't done much at all this week. Basically my time has been spent at my grandparents house. Which I absolutely love being able to do.
Yesterday, Seattle decided to show it's gorgeous weather! I was in love. I don't think anything could make me happier at this point besides finally seeing the bubs. Of course I started my day with a bang and enjoyed a big bowl of pho. Oh yes, that stuff can make your day. I know that pho is a gift from heaven, because it's perfect. Although, I was a little upset when I found out it wasn't as healthy as I thought it was. But hey, that won't stop me from eating it. Nothing will, I'm obsessed.
Saturday I have a trip planned to grab a po dog (fancy hot dog) and shopping. Fingers crossed that I find something fabulous! I also believe I'm halfway through with being away from bubs so hopefully this time will go by quickly!

After, I decided to enjoy the wonderful sunshine and take the pups for a nature walk. Of course it was long enough for a hike but let's be real, it was a nature walk. Needless to say, my shoes got muddy and my fingers got cold but it was amazing. I was hoping to tire out the girls but they kept wanting to walk more. It was great to get outside and walk around just me and the dogs. I think it was the best medicine to clear my head and get focused on the things that I need to work on. I took some pictures with my phone and honestly, I'm kind of upset that they didn't turn out very good. I really need my new camera ASAP. (I finally got my W-2 in the mail so it's time for taxes. Eeek!)
